How many Excedrin Migraine can you take in a day?

The maximum is 2 caplets or geltabs in 24 hours for adults and children 12 and older. Each dose is 2 caplets taken with a full glass of water — do not exceed this, even if your migraine persists. Excedrin Migraine is not intended for frequent or long-term use.

Taking more than 2 doses in 24 hours significantly raises the risk of acetaminophen-related liver damage and medication overuse headache (MOH), sometimes called rebound headache.

How often can you take Excedrin Extra Strength?

Adults and children 12+ can take 2 caplets every 6 hours, with a maximum of 8 caplets in 24 hours. This is a key difference from Excedrin Migraine — Extra Strength allows repeat dosing throughout the day for ongoing tension headache pain. Do not use for more than 10 consecutive days without consulting a doctor.

How many Excedrin should you take per dose?
